4 Weeks Old!
What a big week it has been for our puppies! Not only have they been growing and learning, but also have been introduced to so many new things this week. We started the week by introducing the puppies to their new play space. The texture of the floor is different and they were not very sure of it. In fact, they pretty much hated it! However, now just a few days later, they are loving it!
After a couple days of getting use to the floor, we started to introduce new toys in the play area. We want to continually put our puppies in situations that teach them that they are strong and capable! The slide teaches them stability and the tunnel teaches them about dark and tight places. I am really proud of how far this group has come this week!
They also were introduced to the potty this week. Our goal in potty training the puppies is to teach them to go in a designated area, especially not where they sleep and eat. Already they are catching on and doing a great job! We are intentional about putting them on the potty after they wake up, before and after they eat, and before they take a nap. They are smart pups! In the coming weeks, we will transition this training to outside.
The puppies also started eating solid foods this week. We grind up kibble and then turn it into a mush with warmed goats milk. Again, the puppies did not like it at first, but it did not take long for them to start digging in! Now they love it and look forward to their breakfast and dinner. We will start feeding them lunch as well this week, as well as making the texture of the kibble more coarse.
Below are the puppies four week photos! I love to see their little faces and personalities develop more each week! Next week starts puppy pick week! We are so excited to see who these sweet pups pick for their forever families!
We still have two boys and two girls that are looking for their forever homes. Please reach out if you are interested!
